When stress or anxiety builds for too long, it can start to feel like your reactions are running the show. You snap more easily. Your body feels tense or wired. Sleep suffers.
Your mind keeps going even when you want it to stop. Most approaches to anxiety and overwhelm start with the mind — with advice, strategies, or ways of thinking differently.
But when the nervous system is stuck in survival mode, those tools often don’t stick. John’s approach begins where the stress actually lives: in the body.
Through his Body First Protocol™, he helps people calm the nervous system using simple shifts in posture, breath, movement, and honest conversation. As the body settles, something important returns — the pause between what happens and how you respond.
And when that pause comes back, you can start responding to life again instead of reacting to it. That’s where real control returns.

They might be dealing with:
• anxiety or panic
• stress and emotional overload
• burnout or exhaustion
• depression or low motivation
• anger, frustration, or overwhelm
• addiction patterns or unhelpful coping habits
• loneliness or isolation
• relationship strain
• feeling stuck or directionless
• major life changes
Sometimes people just need someone to talk to who genuinely listens. Sometimes the nervous system needs deeper support to reset.
Either way, the goal is the same: helping you feel calmer, clearer, and more in control again.
Someone says something and you snap. A problem appears and your mind spirals. Pressure builds and your body tightens before you even realise it.
It can feel like life is happening to you instead of being something you’re consciously responding to. What nervous system regulation restores is something simple but powerful: the pause.
That small moment between what happens and what you do next. In that moment you regain choice. Instead of reacting automatically, you can breathe, think clearly, and respond in a way that actually reflects who you want to be - and makes things better - not worse.
That pause is where calm, clarity, and control come from. And it’s something the body can relearn surprisingly quickly when given the right conditions.

Mental wellbeing doesn’t start in the mind alone. Small physical shifts in posture, breath, and movement can calm the nervous system and restore steadiness.
Many people haven’t had a space to fully express what they’re carrying.
Being heard without judgement allows emotional pressure to release and the body to soften.
Sessions typically last around 90 minutes.
There’s no watching the clock or rushing to finish. The time allows space for things to unfold naturally.
John brings more than 25 years of experience supporting people through anxiety, burnout, addiction, conflict, and emotional overwhelm.
He has worked with young people, adults, tradespeople, families, and professionals navigating intense life pressures.
Because John works independently, support can be flexible, practical, and focused on what genuinely helps — not limited by institutional systems or rigid frameworks.
There are two ways to work with John. If you’re unsure where to start, book an individual suppor session and see how you feel afterwards.
If you’re dealing with deeper or longer-standing anxiety, stress, or burnout, the 6-week Body First Protocol™ provides the structure and support needed for more meaningful change.

A session provides space to talk openly, release emotional pressure, and help the nervous system settle.
Session Investment:
$90 - Payment due within 7 days
Sessions are approximately 60-90 minutes and are never rushed. During a session you may:
• talk through what’s been happening in your life
• release emotional pressure in a safe environment
• calm your nervous system through breath and posture awareness
• explore practical next steps forward
Many people leave feeling lighter, clearer, and more grounded.
When stress or anxiety has been building for a long time, deeper change often requires more than a single conversation. The Body First Protocol™ is a structured six-week programme designed to help people move from constant stress toward real stability.
Over six weeks, The Body First Protocol™ helps move you from constant reaction and overwhelm toward steadiness — where the pause returns, clarity comes back online, and you feel in control of how you meet life again.

The first step is helping the nervous system come out of survival mode. This phase focuses on understanding how stress is being held in the body and beginning the process of releasing it.
Work includes:
• nervous system relief
• somatic release practices
• identifying stress triggers
• sleep and recovery support

With the body beginning to settle, we start building real-time self-regulation. This allows you to stay calm not just during sessions, but in everyday situations.
Work includes:
• subtle regulation tools
• breaking patterns that fuel anxiety
• strengthening mind-body awareness
• building emotional resilience

This phase focuses on integration and embedding. People often notice they are responding differently in their work, relationships, and daily life.
Work includes:
• values and identity realignment
• sustainable nervous system practices
• communication shifts
• a forward plan for maintaining stability
The Nervous System Reset following John's unique Body First Protocol™ is a personalised six-week journey working directly with John.
You’ll receive:
• Six 1:1 sessions
• Personalised nervous system assessment and plan
• Practical regulation tools you can use in everyday life
• Support between sessions if needed
One simple payment of $500
Instalments: $90 for first session, plus 2 fortnightly payments of $205.50
Most people begin noticing meaningful shifts within the first two weeks as the nervous system starts settling, and the pause between stress and reaction begins to return.
Despite being in my 60s, I move with the vitality of someone much younger — thanks to decades of studying movement, posture, breath, neurophysics, fitness, nutrition, cycling, martial arts and holistic wellbeing. I genuinely love life, and people often tell me my enthusiasm, infectious smile and down-to-earth nature make them feel instantly at ease.
I also bring lived experience — having successfully navigated divorce, estrangement from my children, redundancy, serious injury and rehabilitation, and turning my own life around after years of smoking and drinking heavily.
These chapters of my life have given me deep compassion, relatability, and an absence of judgement. I’ve learned to live in a way that feels blessed, supported, and grounded - and I bring that steadiness into every conversation.
It’s important to be clear about what I do — and don’t — offer. I’m not a counsellor, therapist, psychologist, or medical practitioner. I don’t diagnose conditions, prescribe medication, or provide clinical treatment, and my support is not a replacement for medical care, counselling, psychotherapy, or emergency mental health services.
What I offer instead is non-clinical mental health support — warm, unrushed conversations that help calm the nervous system, reduce emotional overload, and restore perspective.
Many people come to me while waiting for counselling, alongside counselling, or because they’re seeking a natural holistic form of support that isn't rushed or bound by restrictive guidelines.
When needed, I actively encourage appropriate medical or therapeutic care and can help connect people with trusted professionals across both traditional and holistic health pathways.
People trust me because I’m real, approachable, grounded, and fully present — and because I meet them with warmth, hope, and genuine care.

You don’t need to have everything figured out. You don’t need the right words. If life has started feeling like too much to handle, reaching out is a simple place to begin.
Come exactly as you are. We'll take it from there - together.
Please call me on 022 085 0782 if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Not quite - this isn't therapy, counselling, or clinical treatment. It's human to human support. We sit down together, and make space for whatever is present - without diagnosing, analysing or trying to fix you. Many people come here because therapy feels too fast, too clinical, inaccessible, or not the right fit.
Yes, if that feels supportive for you. You're also welcome to come on your own. There's no right way.
That's ok. Being on medication doesn't exclude you from this kind of support. We don't give you medical advice or ask you to change anything you're prescribed. This work simply sits alongside whatever care you already have - that you're happy with.
If medication helps you feel steadier, that steadiness is welcome here. If you have any questions about medication those are best discussed with your GP or preferred health professional.
